SANTA!!!

Last year, when Luke was just 8 months old, we never made it to see Santa. I had planned and planned on going, then of course the entire family got sick and we never made it. This year I was adamant we were going to see Santa, and we were going to see him early! we have been talking to Luke about Santa and getting him excited to see him. I really wanted to avoid the traumatic screaming baby experience. And it was a success! While Luke did not smile (yet again - must be a camera thing), he did not scream and really was just curious as to who this silly looking man was. Love him!

Family Photos!

I LOVE getting our family photos taken! Something about not having to be the one taking the photo, as well as being able to be IN the photo (have you noticed how many photos there are of Luke & Matt? ;) ). This year we choose the Clark County Heritage Museum as our backdrop and it was just beautiful!! Luke was less than cooperative, refused to break a smile, but at least we got some nice family shots. Maybe next year he will show us those beautiful teeth!

Luke's new girlfriend

Luke sure does attract the ladies. Perhaps it is his fun-loving personality, or those baby blues, but either way he has quite a few girlfriends. This is Karsyn. They went swimming together, and then she snuck a kiss. Suffice to say, they have been "an item" ever since.

Dad's 60th Birthday!

Luke Turns ONE!!!!!!

I cannot believe our little boy is a whole year old. 12 months. 366 days (Leap Year!). While some of the days seemed to drag on forever, the past year has really gone by quick. In a matter of one short year, Matt and I went from being a couple to a family with a toddler.

Luke really is an incredible kid. He has such a fun, loving personality. He is constantly smiling, loves to snuggle and likes it when mommy rubs his back.

He started rolling over at 4 months, crawling at 6 months, cruising around furniture at 7 months and took 7 steps just a few weeks before his birthday. He isn't full on walking yet, it is still much faster to crawl, but he is getting more confidence daily!

Like his mommy, Luke doesn't like being woken up in the morning, he hates being sick (2 ear infections in one year!) and he is staring to understand (and dislike) the word "no". He can sign "more" and "eat" as well as say "mama", "dada", "ball", "more", "yes", "no", and "nana" (banana).

Luke absolutely loves our dogs Tyler & Phoenix. When he is in his walker outside, he chases after Tyler since he is so slow, and enjoys getting kissed by Phoenix. The dogs love Luke too, especially when he brings food!

I cannot wait to see what the next year brings. Although I know it to be impossible, I hope that time slows down just a little. I want to enjoy every single moment of my son.

Luke gets his first haircut

At just a week shy of his first birthday, Luke got his first haircut. He may not have a lot of hair, but what he did have was unruly! And we wanted him to look dapper at his birthday party. So we took him to see my hair lady. She showed him the clippers, let him touch them while it was on, and really got him comfortable before cutting his hair. And he still cried :( But overall he actually did very well, and now he has a handsome haircut! Love him!

Visit to the Gilcrease Orchard

We decided to visit the orchard here in Las Vegas to see what produce we could pick. We found carrots and Luke had such a blast digging them up with daddy. He was a great helper!

Luke is 11 months!!

I cannot believe that in just one short month, our little boy will be a year old. Where has the time gone? He has such a personality these days, and shakes his yes or no when you ask him a question. Luke is so smart! We are still waiting for him to take those first steps by himself but he loves walking while holding mom or dad's hand!

Luke turns 10 months!

Happy 10 months my little man! Luke is really becoming a human being and it is so fun to watch him grow. Only 2 more months until he turns 1! WOW!!

Luke decided to fall and hurt himself the other day. I have never heard such a painful cry! Poor guy cut the bottom of his nose and he is still healing. He is in a much better mood now though!

Happy 9 Months Luke!

Our little man is 3/4 of a year old! It is just amazing how quickly time is passing. Luke is now eating almost everything mommy & daddy eat (or at least anything he can quickly get his hands on!). He is an expert crawler and is experimenting with standing without any support for longer periods of time. He is also getting good at sharing, if you ask him for the ball he is playing with he hands it to you! Such a smart boy!

Nelson, NV

We decided to do a day trip to Nelson, Nevada. I had heard that this is a great place to take photos and it is less than an hour away. It was so cute! And totally set up for a photoshoot. I can't wait to take clients out there for photos!
